Naeem Daud is a happy man after what he described as a satisfying performance during the 2017 Rally Tanzania that took place over the weekend in Bagamoyo, Tanzania.

‘Taita’ as he is commonly known was attempting his fifth rally event as well as debuting in a Mitsubishi Evo X.

Daud and co-driver Victor Jackson started the event in twenty-fifth place but climbed up to end of day one in 11th position.

Daud maintained his pace in the final day to finish tenth overall.

“It’s the best event have done so far. I was so excited about the event from the time I knew I was going to participate and am glad we finished with a good performance.

“I am very happy with our performance the , first time in the Evo X then finishing ahead of more experienced drivers,” he said.

With the weekend’s performance, Daud anticipates better days ahead.

“This event has given me some confidence. While others dropped out and some broke their cars, we remained intact to the final stage.

“Now I will be more prepared and calculative in the future events. I believe to get much better gradually and eventually attempt events outside Tanzania,” he added.

Meanwhile, the event was won by Kenya’s Manvir Baryan followed by Ahmed Huwel and Harinder Deere in third.
