The Uganda Select B side lost to the Indian Select side by 65 runs today at Lugogo.
The Indian side won the toss and chose to bat first putting on a huge 303/9 in their 50 overs.
As has been the norm, Ronak Patel (76) was pick of the batsmen supported by his Kutchi Tigers colleague Shantilal Raghvani (58).
Trevor Bukenya (2/40) and Jonathan Ssebanja (2/50) were pick of the bowlers.
In reply, the Uganda select had a lot of starts but failed to convert with Arnold Otwani (51) and Stephen Wambose (70) managing half centuries but wasn’t enough in the end falling short by 65 runs.
Hanumat Katkar captain of the Indian Select Side was thrilled. He spoke to Kawowo Sports;
“For us as Team India it was a very important game to win because opposition Uganda unit was very strong and full of talented players.
“We know Pakistan lost first game so they will come hard in second game and Its not easy for any team to qualify for final.
“I am happy that Our team won today with good margin and net run rate which i am sure will be beneficial at the end.”
Action continues tomorrow as the Uganda Select B side takes on the Pakistan XI at Lugogo.
