Magreb region country Morocco could host two CAF tournaments in quick succession, amid fears the original hosts may not be ready in time.

Morocco is one of two countries being considered to step-in for Kenya as emergency hosts of CHAN 2018. South Africa is the other nation purported to be on standby.
Morocco is already the favorite to replace Cameroon as host of AFCON 2019 in case the west-central African nation isn’t ready.
However, Cameroonian officials suggest they will pass a pending inspection of tournament venues, likely coming next month.
An inspection was scheduled for August 20th – 28th 2017 but was postponed after the sudden withdrawal of audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The firm gave no reason for their withdrawal.
Morocco is seen as having grand ambitions for increasing its clout within CAF circles, having hosted multiple officials and events in recent years.
Moroccan Foootball Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa triples as a CAF Executive and the assistant to the Controller of the Budget for Morocco’s Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Lekjaa and Morocco were heavy supporters of new CAF president Ahmad Ahmad’s election campaign.
CAF has yet to reveal when it will announce final plans for CHAN and AFCON hosts.
