Mike Ddungu has threatened to quit his job as Mbarara City Football Club Public Relations Officer (PRO) over what he terms as ‘unpalatable’ working conditions.
Ddungu, also a radio presenter at Mbarara based Vision Radio assumed work close to 4 months now and has been key in mobilizing the club fans.
“I have not resigned but stepped aside so that some issues are ironed out. I will definitely return when things are better,” Ddungu revealed to Kawowo Sports without explaining further.
The club is among the three new teams that were promoted from the FUFA Big League alongside Maroons and Masavu.
During the off season, they have relatively hit the transfer market and shopped a number of players.
Ddungu was significant for rallying fans during the recently concluded club fundraiser at Kakyeeka stadium.
Kawowo Sports has established the root cause for Ddungu’s discount is the alleged ‘egoism’ among the club officials at the club.
The PRO however, insists every matter will be put to bed once he meets the club director Mwine Mpaka, also the Western region Youth Member of Parliament.

Mbarara City kicks off the new campaign with an away match against Jinja based club BUL at the Kakindu stadium.
Recently, the club renewed the employment contract for head coach Richard Makumbi for one season.
His assistant Villai Bainomugisha was also signed for one year.
