With the countdown to the 2017 FIM Motocross of African Championship underway, the Orland brothers are all worked up for the big challenge ahead.

The African MX championship kicks off this weekend 26-27th August in Gaborone, Botswana.

Aviv, Stav and Alon Orland will represent Uganda in the MX85 and MX65 respectively.

The brothers expressed their readiness for the race as they put their sights on nothing else but victory in Botswana.

“We are ready for the event, we have been doing a lot of practice back in America which will help us compete very well in Botswana.

“We have watched some videos from Botswana and we found out the track is familiar from what we have been used to in Uganda. That gives us more courage to go for a win,” says the elder brother Aviv Orland.

Aviv is the defending African MX85 champion following a record he put last year being the first Ugandan to win an African MX title.

He will however race against his young brother Stav in the same class.

“I have no ideas about the other riders in our class apart from my brother and Fortune Sentamu. But we know many riders will come from South Africa and Zambia.

“But out target will be finishing on podium and we are ready for it. Even Alon is prepared to finish on podium in his class,” said Stav.

Meanwhile, the Orland brothers will join other 27 riders to fly the Uganda flag in Botswana.
