Gift Ali will be the center of attraction when Police hosts Proline at Namboole

Midfield gem Gift Ali will attract the most attention when Police FC host his former bosses Proline in the only league game of the day at Namboole.

The former Arua Central skipper joined the cops from the Wandegeya based side in this transfer window although his move was initially rejected by club boss, Mujib Kasule.

The player who spent over seven years at the club isn’t under any pressure but insists he is now a Police player who wants the team to win every game including the Friday tie.

“I have a lot of memories at Proline,” he stated. “But they are now in the past,” he added.

“I am currently a Police FC player and will be eager to help my team pick maximum points.

However, the respect for the club will see him shun celebrating in case he nets for his new bosses.

“I can’t celebrate scoring against them but that doesn’t mean that I will spare them if a chance comes.

There are no new reported injuries from the cops who have a chance to reclaim top spot with maximum points as they now sit third with a point shy of joint table leaders, KCCA and Mbarara City.

But they will miss the services of Samuel Kayongo who is still sidelined.

For the visitors, Kasule is expected to field his new signings Ivan Bukenya, Joseph Ssemujju (on loan from Vipers), Sula Matovu as well as Savio Kabugo who also featured for the side last season but had been let go.

The side have lost five out of the six possible points and Kabugo says it’s high time they picked maximum points.

“It’s a game we can’t afford to lose,” he said. “The target is to pick maximum points and that’s what we shall fight for,” he added.

“We have respect for the opponents and we know what challenge they bring to the table but we need this.

In the past ten meetings, Police boosts of a better record with 3 wins against Proline’s one whilst the rest have been stalemates.
