Newly promoted Masavu Football Club entertains two-time Uganda Premier League winners Vipers at the lake side Fisheries Training Institute playground in Bugonga on Tuesday.

Vipers is unbeaten in the opening 3 matches of the season after goalless draw at Bright Stars on the opening day, the side has recorded successive 1-0 wins at St Mary’s Stadium against BUL and SC Villa.

On the other hand, Masavu has lost two matches, one via a boardroom decision against Police and recently Soana at Kavumba Recreational stadium.

Alex Gitta and Joseph Mutyaba coached side won 1-0 against Mujib Kasule’s Proline at the StarTimes stadium on match day two.

The game between Masavu and Vipers is expected to be as epic and mouthwatering given the geographical location of the two sides.

For a reason or another, the main focus of the game will be on two former Bunamwaya (now Vipers) players – Charles Odeke and Ddumba “Sadaman” Sadala, now at the Entebbe based side.

Odeke and Sadala are icons at Masavu and therefore it goes without a saying they will play to prove a point or two to their former pay masters.

From the basis of Masavu’s final training on Monday morning, Mutyaba and Gitta are spoilt for choice in all the departments of the field.

Odeke, defender Brian Nsubuga and midfielder Nicodemus Mande Ikesit are match fit are expected to be fielded in their first match at the club this season at a time former Kibuli S.S holding midfielder Sulaiman Mutta will sit out having sustained a muscle strain against Soana at Kavumba.

Mande joins a crowded midfield that already has Onesmas Andama, Sadala, former Express anchorman Charles ‘Napia’ Wamala and the diminutive teenager Noah Veron Ddamba.

Up front Odeke could lead the line alongside prodigal son Abraham Ndugwa as Ivan Lubaale, Onesmas Andama and Sadala play the feeder roles from midfield.

Either Philly Lutaaya or Moses Kiggundu could be used at right back.

It may also take a dice throw to decide who starts at the left flank between the vastly experienced Sande Mukiibi or the industrious Ibrahim Magada.

Nsubuga, Lawrence Bakirenze and Sulaiman Ochero are sure cards at central defense.

For the Vipers’ team, a side fresh from the morale boosting 1-0 home victory against SC Villa will field more less the same faces like last Saturday.

Ismail Watenga could start ahead of James Alitho in the goalkeeping department.

Hard working skipper Nico Wakiro Wadada will surely once again lead the Miguel Da Costa’s outfit as he takes the right back role.

Dan Birikwalira or Yayo Lutimba on the left. Geoffrey Wasswa, Shafiq Bakaki or Deus Bukenya are sure cards at central defence.

The midfield department which is Vipers’ strongest weapon has Tadeo Lwanga, Tom Masiko, Moses Waiswa, Milton Karisa, Frank ‘Zagga’ Tumwesigye and Hassan ‘Gaata’ Kaleega.

Up front is Tonny Odur and youngster Steven Mukwala with the primary task to seek for the much treasured goals.

Maximum points for any of the two clubs will be an early impetus with the season still at the kick off stage as they plan to consolidate the grip.

The other two matches on Tuesday will see Proline host Soana at Lugogo and Bright Stars up against Kirinya-Jinja S.S at the Champions stadium in Mwererwe.
