- Masavu 0-2 Vipers

Vipers Sports Club were a class act in their 2-0 victory against Masavu at the lake side Fisheries Training Institute, Bugonga in Entebbe on Tuesday evening.
Uganda Cranes forward Milton Karisa opened the scoring with a well drilled shot off the weaker left foot on 38 minutes.
New signing Steven Mukwala added the second 12 minutes into the second stanza of the game watched by a passionate crowd that included former FUFA boss Lawrence Mulindwa and treasurer Anthony Kimuli.
Masavu kicked off the game brightly when intelligent forward Abraham Ndugwa propelled Vipers’ captain Nico Wakiro Wadada into a forced error for a corner 8 minutes into the game. Defender Lawrence Bakiranze headed wide the resultant Sande Mukiibi corner.
Four minutes later, Vipers earned their opening corner that the home side defended well.
Mukwala, in his second start for the club after leading the line on the opening day, headed narrowly out after 15 minutes off a teasing free-kick from his captain,Wadada.
Mukwala and midfielder Hassan ‘Gaata’ Kaleega were the two changes that coach Miguel Da Costa named on the side that won at home to Sports Club Villa Jogoo on Saturday.
Kalega teased goalie Mansoor Mutumba with a long range attempt on 19 minutes before Masavu right back Moses Kiggundu delivered a free-kick straight to Vipers’ number one Isma Watenga two minutes later.
Viper’s left back Dan Birikwalira had a long range free-kick settle above the goal, leaving Mutumba entangled in the nets.
On the hour mark, Karisa laid a cut back for Tom Masiko with the latter having a slight touch on the ball off his weaker left foot.
The opening goal arrived after 38 minutes. Watenga picked up a high ball despite striker Charles Odeke’s spirited follow up.
The Uganda Cranes goalkeeper delivered a long dipping diagonal ball in the path of Karisa. The forward expertly held off defender Moses Kiggungu before calmly finishing off with a left footed shot as the visitors led 1-0 going to the mandatory half time break.
When the second half returned, Mandela replaced a limping Karisa.
Defender Lawrence Bakiranze paved way for midfielder Onesmas Andama, a change that prompted Ibrahim Pengere to pull back to the center half role.
Masavu midfielder Veron Ddamba was cautioned for a foul on Moses Waiswa four minutes into the second half.
Mukwala got the second goal on 57 minutes after another high ball beat two Masavu center halves Sulaiman Ochero and Pengere before the fast forward finished off to wheel in celebration with an acrobatic summer-sault.
Ochero also got booked by FIFA referee Brian Miiro Nsubuga on the 60th minute mark.
Moments later, Masavu called for the two final changes. Nicodemus Ikeisit and Peter Lomoro replaced Ddamba and Odeke respectively.
Meanwhile, Masiko was replaced by forward Erisa Ssekisambu before the final change of the visitors 10 minutes to full time when youngster Mujahid Baden came on for the weary though effective legs of Mukwala.
Vipers thus attained their third victory of the campaign and dislodged Police at the top with 10 points from 4 matches.
Masavu is 4th from bottom on the 16 team log with just 3 points earned in 4 matches.
