- City Oilers 93-46 Savio

2017 Zone V Club Championship hosts City Oilers found little resistance in their opening game of the tournament at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
The defending champions eased to a 93-46 win over Tanzanian side Savio on Sunday night.
Oilers started the game with three consecutive 3-pointer and led by 10 points (15-5) midway the first quarter before closing out with a 24-14 advantage.
The second quarter was all Oilers as the limited their opponents to just 4 points and widened the lead to 30 points (49-19) heading to the locker rooms at halftime.
With the game all but done, the hosts launched shots from anywhere they pleased especially from beyond the arc as Savio had no answers.
Stephen Omony led the assault for the defending champions from downtown connecting on 4-of-6 and 2-of-2 from inside for team high 17 points.
James Okello attacked Savio’s interior to amass 12 points, Adarius Pegues and Stanley Ocitti contributed 10 points apiece while Daniel Juuko scored 9 points and handed out 6 assists in his flurry.
Amini Mkosa led Savio with game high 19 points ans 7 rebounds while Oilers’ old boy Mohamed Yusuf scored 11 points.
