Kefa Kisala admitted Bul’s defending was appalling during the side’s 4-0 loss to URA on Tuesday at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Bul who lost 3-1 to KCCA last Saturday suffered their third defeat of the campaign, with Charles Sempa, Henry Kiseka, Ajab Abdurahman and Ronald Kigongo scoring for URA.

It was the side’s heaviest defeat this term, and the result meant they became the second team to swallow four goals in a single game this season.

“It’s a tough period for the entire team, conceding seven goals in two games,” Kisala said. “We have to work really hard because if we continue like this, we could find ourselves fighting relegation again.

“We defended so poorly, we conceded goals that we could’ve avoided. It’s surprising that we let in some of these goals, but we hope we can correct our mistakes in our next game. The good thing is that we have enough time between now and our next game to work on that.”

Kisala, whose side was facing his former bosses, attributed their awful defending to injuries that have not let him find the right partnership in defense.

“We thought our defense was our best department because we have players who are tested. We have Walangalira, we have Mukisa, we have Mayanja and Otongo but because of the injuries, we have failed to find the best partnership.”

Kisala went on to say his team is short on confidence hence the poor results.

“We have failed to handle certain situations. Today in the first half, we weren’t comfortable with the ball. That’s because we are not confident enough.

“This team was involved in a relegation fight last season and the players we got this term also fought relegation with their teams so they probably don’t believe in themselves. We need to prep them psychologically and we need to instill belief in them.”
