A maiden Africa Rally Championship title beckons for the Multiple Racing Team (MRT) of Manvir Baryan and Drew Sturrock.
The crew elevated themselves to title contenders with three consecutive victories in the previous events with their Skoda Fabia.
“We are all set for the event. We are only hoping for the best putting in mind our actual target this weekend. The focus will mainly be on ARC,” says Sturrock.
Although Manvir only needs to start the event to become a champion, he is expected take a cautious strategy.
“The routes are very nice. But a bit tricky in most parts. Some stages especially the twisty one may favour the Skoda but there some other which favours the group N cars as well.
“But we shall be a bit cautious through out the event and see how it goes,” he added.
Meanwhile, six Africa Rally Championship crews will take on the two-day event.
