Challengers
Challengers were nearly shocked by SKLPS

In our preview for the T20 we predicted that Nile might fail to win either games in Jinja and that is what happened over weekend.

JACC – a Division 3 team – put Nile to the sword defeating them by 6 wickets after they lost to a better Jinja SS in the morning by 40 runs. Nile has had a season to forget and the loss to JACC is the last indicator that they will need to beef up their team next year.

Defending champions Challengers easily defeated Kampala Pirates by 92 runs on Saturday afternoon but SKLPS left them with a bloody nose winning a close encounter by 10 runs.

Challengers failed with the bat on Sunday scoring only 85 runs but it was disciplined bowling helped them snatch a win from the jaws of defeat.

Captain Ivan Thawithemwira was grateful to God but also realistic in they way the team needs to improve with the bat.

It was a very close game, God helped us through. The bowling unit did an outstanding job. They hit the lines we asked them to, and gave little away. Plus the tenacity shown by all the team was remarkable.

Charity lost one and won one in Buddo. They lost to a determined ACC in the morning which was missing regular captain Richard Lwamafa but they managed to put this season’s heartbreak behind them to defeat Charity by 11 runs.

Charity got some redemption in the afternoon when they defeated Partidar by 37 runs thanks largely to efforts of the ever green Henry Muyanja.

There is little to write about the Strikers win over Wanderers. Wanderers were skittled out for 53 which Strikers chased in under 5 overs for the loss of only one wicket.

Aziz Damani started their T20 campaign with a resounding win over Avengers in Lugogo. Even without Steve Tikolo and Brian Masaba who were away with the Uganda Select XI, Damani was too good for their opponents.
