It is advantage Rwanda going to the return leg of the CHAN 2018 playoff against Ethiopia in Kigali.
The Amavubi Stars defeated the Walia Stars 3-2 in Addis Ababa in the first leg played on Sunday.
Aschalew Girma gave the hosts the lead on 17 minutes as they took a slim 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Rwanda equalized through Eric Rutanga in the 55th minute before the home side regained the lead 10 minutes later through Sani’s header after a cross by midfielder Samson Tilahun on the left.
Muhadjiri Hakizimana capitalized on blunder by Ethiopia goalie Birhanu to level matters in the 77th minute.
Abeddy Biramahire wrapped up the business for the Rwandese 10 minutes to full time.
The return leg is set for next Sunday, November 12 in Kigali.
The winner over the two legs will join the other 15 finalists, including Uganda for the final tournament slated to take place in Morocco between January and February 2018.
