Immensely talented Ottawa Fury midfielder Azake Luboyera is among the 30 players named on the provisional list by Uganda U-20 head coach, Mathias Lule ahead of the COSAFA U-20 championship.
Luboyera broke to instant prominence when he staged a man of the match performance, scoring a brace for the U-20 team against Rwanda in the CAF qualifiers.
The squad was officially announced by the FUFA Youth Development officer, Bashir Mutyaba during a press briefing at Mengo in Kampala.
Luboyera’s club, Ottawa Fury features in the United States Major League Soccer and has been a talking point in his debut season across the divide.

‘Team training starts on 27th November 2017 at Mandela National Stadium. For the players summoned, we have considered continuity of the players who played in the CAF U-17 and 20 qualifiers, FUFA Juniors league and a few exceptional players from the schools programme,” Mutyaba explained to the media.
US Based right back Andrew Okiring Isaigi, captain for the previous U-17 team is also part of the summoned team.
There are lots of talented youngsters as KCCA’s Allan Okello and Julius Poloto, Proline goalkeeper Saidi Keni and Kibuli S.S shop stopper, Ali Mwerusi.

Others are; Shafiq Kagimu (URA), roving left footed star Pius ‘TZ Iniesta’ Obuya (Maroons), Express’ Sharif Ochaya Muhammed, troubled striker Shaban Muhammed (KCCA), Frank ‘Zagga’ Tumwesigye (Vipers) and St Mary’s cum Vipers midfielder cum attacker Pius ‘Muzei’ Wangi.

There is place for U-18 FUFA Juniors league current top scorer, Nathanniel Atamba, who features for Mbarara U-18 Junior team.
The team that will be handled by Mathias Lule (head coach), James Odoch (assistant coach) and goalkeeping coach Sadiq Wassa shall depart for Zambia where the U-20 COSAFA tournament shall be stage on 4th December 2017.

Uganda is pooled in group A alongside hosts and defending champions, Zambia, Swaziland and Malawi.
Uganda’s opening will be against Malawi on the 6th December 2017.
