The 2017 National rally championship finale; Oryx Energies Heartbeat rally could become the most exciting and thrilling event this season. The event is due this weekend in Masaka.
The rally is designed to provide some breathtaking action. Twelve stages with a total competitive distance of 145.22 kilometres awaits the drivers.
Hussein Mukuye, co-driver to Omar Mayanja says the routes will call for maximum speeds.
“The routes are very fast and narrow. So smooth all the way, with about ten percent rough. We are going to see abnormally fast speeds from everyone.
“Just in case of the rains, the first section of Day 2 will be practically impassable for the 2WD cars and only slippery for the 4WD,” he said.
Moil rally team Yasin Nasser share a not so different opinion.
“The routes are very good and fast. But in case it rains, then the whole beauty of it will fade as they will become more slippery. Also the super special stage looked so small and uneasy in that swamp. It could be a challenge,” he said.
To Musa Nsubuga, the weekend’s event will be the fastest event this season.
“Very fast and good routes.
I think this is going to be the fastest rally in 2017. Everyone will go flat-out even those you least expect to hit high speeds will have to do it in Masaka. If it happens to rain, it will be a disaster,” he said.
Meanwhile, the crews will compete over seven stages. Four of which will be repeated twice and the others thrice to make a total of 12stages.
