
URA lessened the pressure on their coach Ibrahim Kirya with a slim win over Soana on Tuesday in the Uganda Premier League.
The tax collectors had won just once in their previous five games, and were coming off the back of a 2-1 defeat to log leaders Police, but thanks to Bokota Labama Kamana, the side was able to return to winning ways.
Bokota struck the winner in the first half as Kirya and his men distanced themselves from the relegation zone.
URA, whose victory was their fourth this campaign now sit eighth in the league standings with 16 points, five above the red line.
Soana, who like their hosts were coming off the back of a defeat, remained glued eleventh with 13 points, just two above the drop zone.
It was Soana’s fourth defeat away from home and their fifth overall.
URA play Vipers next at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende while Soana host Express next month.
