New Express FC Coach Shafik Bisaso admitted his side lost to a better team in the aftermath of a 1-0 loss to Police FC at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
Bisaso saw his side succumb to a strike from Hood Kaweesa on his debut although the Red Eagles put up an unsuccessful late fight.
“We lost to a better team,” Bisaso told the post-match press conference. “They played like a team that has been together for a while but again, we conceded a goal we could have defended,” he added.
The former SC Villa tactician however picked positives from the game despite defeat.
The mentality and never say die attitude of the players gave me courage that we can build on.
The six-time champions languish in relegation zone with eleven points from as many games played but Bisaso targets a top five finish.
We are in a position we don’t have be in. My target is to ensure we get up into the top five by end of the season.
On the long term targets, the soft spoken tactician admitted they will need time and support from everyone to get the club where it belongs – the top.
Bisaso’s next game is away to former employers, SC Villa against a man, Wasswa Bbosa who replaced him at Villa Park.
