Uganda Cranes has slipped four places in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday, 23rd November 2017.

Uganda is now 74th with 471 points, a drop from 70th from last month’s rating.

The fall follows a one all draw picked away in Brazzaville during the final round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in group E.

Regardless of the fall, Uganda remains the best ranked country in the CECAFA region.

Kenya drops 9 places to 111th, Rwanda falls by 2 slots to 120th and Sudan climbs 4 places to 137th.

Burundi falls to 138th and Tanzania is now slips 6 places to 142nd.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia improves by 6 places to 145th.

The Lions of Teranga (Senegal) have risen to 23rd – their highest-ever position on the global ladder – on the back of securing a first World Cup place since 2002.

They are now the top-ranked African nation, having leapfrogged fellow Russia 2018 qualifiers Tunisia (27th, up 1) and Egypt (31st, down 1).

Cameroons falls by three places to 45th as Nigeria slips down by 9 places to 50th.

Germany maintains the number one status quo slot with 1602 points.

Brazil is second on 1483 points.

Overall, Korea DPR is the best improved country in the world ascending an overwhelming 18 places to 114th.

Palestine (82, up 2), Luxembourg (84, up 9) and Chinese Taipei (135, up 8) all joined Senegal in reaching their best ranking positions to date.

There were also notable leaps forward by Lebanon (87, up 13), Burkina Faso (44, up 11), and Indonesia (154, up 11).

The next rankings shall be released on 28th December 2017.
