Ethiopia Football Association Elective General Assembly:

The long awaited elections for the Ethiopia Football Association will happen on 25th December 2017 in Addis Ababa.
This is after the confirmation of the day for the elective general assembly that will include election of president among the day’s agenda.
Incumbent Juneidi Basha faces three other challengers to the top seat.
These are Teka Assefaw, Dr. Ashebir Woldegiorgis, Easyas Jira and Dagim Melashen.
The four candidates were cleared by the electoral board after certifying the set conditions.
Juneidi is favourite to retain the seat after years of diligent service at the helm of administration of football in football.
He has witnessed the country prosper in the growth of women football, youth structures, sports infrastructural development and the senior national team.
Recently, Juneidi witnessed the signing of a confidentiality agreement signed between Ethiopian National Anti-doping Agency, Ethiopian Federal Police Commission, Ethiopian Food, Medicines and Health Care Administration and Control Authority and National Sports Associations to combat doping.
On the region, he has been aggressive for transformation within the CECAFA body.
He was one of the F.A presidents who convened in Kampala on 19th April 2017 agitating for drastic reforms in CECAFA, henceforth formulating the 9 point resolution for the regional body’s development.
His critics however point to the continued medicore performance of the national football team in the AFCON and FIFA World Cup qualifiers as well as on the region basis (CECAFA).
