Groupement Sportif des Pétroliers (GSP) recorded their third century at the on going FIBA Africa Champions Cup at Salle Multidisciplinaire de Radès.

The Morrocan side defeated ASB Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo 101-92 on Friday afternoon to advance to the quarter final of the competition.

Mazembe (0-4) kept the contest tight right from tip off and only fell off late in the final quarter of the game depite being within a point (87-88), 5:13 to the final buzzer.

Forward Mohamed Harat was Mzaembe’s tormentor in chief pouring in tournament high 34 points to go with 11 rebounds. Mounir Benzegala, Abderrahamane Mostefat and Nicholas Covington contributed 14, 11 and 10 points respectively for GSP.

Meanwhile, big man Pichou Manga was not the star performer for Mazembe but scored 10 points. It was Rolly Fula Nganga who led the way with 25 points, Jonathan Ba Kasongo had 22 points while Makitu Sangwa chipped in with 10 points.

The final group games will be played on Saturday with Mazembe playing Gombe Bulls while GSP will face Union Sportive Monastir.
