Uganda Rugby Cranes sevens’ Pius Ogena has switched from top flight premiership side Buffaloes to Kenya’s Kabras Sugar RFC ahead of the Kenya Cup.

The star sealed the move last week and now looks forward to a fresh start with several matches looming.
Pius joins USPA Male player of the year 2018 – Phillip Wokorach – at the franchise after shinning in the Dubai sevens having finished joint fourth with 9 points on the performance tracker alongside Wales Gorge Gasson, Samoa’s Alamanda Motuga and Spain’s Manuel Sainz-Trapaga.

Kabras Sugar’s Coach Charles Cadovillis said the capture of Ogena will be a good addition.
He will bring some good competition for our current centres, who have been massive. With us playing Quins, Nondies, Impala and Homeboyz in that order, it will really test our strength both physically and mentally, something we are working on with the boys
Kabras face Kenya Harlequins on Saturday but unfortunately Pius will not feature as he’s still undergoing therapy for a shoulder injury.
Ogena told Kawowo Sports he hopes he “will be better” by next week.
