Dharam Pandya got off more with a bang than a whimper as the 2018 Tanzania national rally championship got under way in Tanga.

Pandya easily crusied his Subaru VAB to victory.

Although the event had three of the first stages canceled, Pandya eventually dominated to win.

Navigated by Moses Matovu, Pandya posted the fastest time of 52 minutes and 38seconds.

The Toyota Rally Team driver attributes his victory to his navigator whom he partnered with for the first time.

“It was a great challenge and a good race. The car performed very well. Special thanks goes to Moses Matovu for the support.

“Matovu taught me a few new things while in the car. It all worked out well together and we got the results,” he said.

Tanga rlRally was a double victory for Pandya as he drove his Subaru to a maiden victory following a series of disappointments last year.

“We are now getting to know the car better and its abilities. It is now running really well. It has a good setup now and a bit change in driving just made a difference,” he asserted.

Pandya and Matovu now stand top of the standings with 25 points.

Rajpal Singh settled for second position followed by Aliasger Fazal.
