After losing Charles Waiswa and Fred Achellam to last season’s National Cricket League champions Aziz Damani, the onus to lift Tornado Bee is on Roger Mukasa.

And if Tornado Bee’s opening game of the season is anything to go by, Mukasa – who had an average season last year – has embraced the role as he put in a Man of the Match performance as his side defeated newcomers Premier Cricket Club by 9 wickets at Lugogo on Sunday.

Premier won the toss and chose to bat, setting 167 all out with Calvin Watuwa 45(67) and Jonathan Stalin 26(17) the biggest contributors to the total.

Mukasa was mean with the ball putting up bowling figures of 4/24 backed up by Deus Muhumuza 3/31.

In the chase, Mukasa knocked 87 off 56 and Mitch Horrocks was the other big contributor for Tornado Bee with 41 off 51.
