Team Uganda is already set for the opening ceremony of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games today in Australia.

The group of Ugandan athletes will be part of the teams from different countries matching in front of the sold-out crowds at Carrara Stadium – the eighth-largest Australian Football League ground by capacity (25,000).
Team Uganda is clad in beautiful off-yellow indigenous attire with the ladies having “Bikooyi” rolled around their waists – clear Gomesi replicas.
Two National swimmers are part of team Uganda at the Commonwealth games in Goldcoast, Australia.

The opening ceremony is set to feature Australian celebrities such as Delta Goodrem and Ricki-Lee Coulter, with an estimated 1.5 billion people worldwide expected to tune in.
There’ll also be spectacular, uplifting and surprising moments of theatre, breathtaking visual effects, dancing and music.
As a showcase of culture, colour, unity and diversity, the Opening Ceremony is set to epitomise the spirit of the Gold Coast and Queensland.

At the last Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Uganda was represented by 64 athletes and officials from eight federations. The team won five medals; one gold and four bronze.
