After four years of service as SC Villa president, Ben Immanuel Misagga has officially resigned from the post.

Misagga made the shocking announcement on Sunday July 15 at Villa Park in front of thousands of fans who turned up on a chilly morning.

He resigns a couple of weeks after FUFA suspended SC Villa elections that were scheduled to take place this month until at least before December 2018.

“My term of office ended yesterday  (Saturday) but Fufa did stop elections,” Misagga told the fans. “Fromeo today onwards, am no longer SC Villa president but will stay on as a fan,” he said and immediately sat into his car and left along with some of his executive members.

The revelation was greeted with cheers from a section of fans led by Denis Mbidde who targets to take over the club presidency while grief was observed on faces of those who till believed in Misagga.

Hours before the news came out, Fufa President and staunch Villa fan went to his Facebook page and argued the fans to stay calm insisting all the issues will be sorted inside as a family.

During Misagga’s four year term in office,  SC Villa has won one trophy – the Uganda Cup in 2015 and finished in the top three in the league.

It remains a mystery what next will happen at the club but as usual,  we shall keep you posted.

Whowever takes over may have to start from scratch as the club has lost over eleven first team players so far, are coach less and no structures in place.
