The 2018 National Motocross Championship heads into the penultimate round this Sunday at the Victoria Race Track in Garuga.
A hotly contested category races are anticipated to ensue as title contenders try to close in on the year’s accolades.
MX1 will provide the most thrilling fight as 10-time MX champion Arthur Blick takes on Maxime Van Pee. Van Pee is vying for a fourth title.
With 57 points separating the two, Blick only needs to finish second on Sunday to seal his eleventh title. Van Pee on the other hand must secure the maximum 60 points and hope for Blick to finish below second position.
In the MX2 class, Fatuh Kiggundu will have to edge Isma Mukiibi to consolidate his title defence.
Ali Omar Yasser and Alestair Blick will as well be in a tight fight for the MX125 title chase. Only 36 points separate Omar from Blick.
Fortune Sentamu who has dominated the MX85 class throughout the season, he is expected to set the pace yet again. Sentamu is currently 29 points ahead of Malcom Lubega in this category.
Jeremiah Mawanda will go against the Obote brothers Akaki and Akena for the MX65 fight title clash.
Gift Sebuguzi in the MX50 class will have to secure maximum points to have a more comfortable lead going into the season finale.
The Juniors class will have Ramathan Mubiru; currently leading battle with Ashiraf Mbabazi and Ahmed Tamale for the class honors.
Meanwhile, the FMU sprint will take a center stage right after the MX races.
Over 20 crews are expected to be part of the weekend sprint at the Garuga double circuit track as they warm up for the NRC season finale later next month.
