When the Uganda Cricket Cranes head to Oman for the World Cricket League Division 3 qualifiers, safety will be the first objective according to captain Roger Mukasa.

In an interactive chat with Cricket Uganda, the Division 4 winning captain did not mince his words when asked about the team’s target.

“Going into Oman our primary target is to remain Division 3. Playing in the lower divisions is very hard. We are forward looking and don’t want to think about going back to Division 4,” he said.

The Cricket Cranes will join hosts Oman, USA, Kenya, Singapore and Denmark at the November 9–19 tournament as they battle to join the big boys in Division 2.

The six-team tournament will be played at Al Emarat Cricket Stadium in Muscat.

Cricket Cranes will open up against Denmark on Friday, November 9, then take on the USA on Saturday, November 10.

Steve Tikolo’s charges will take on troubled neighbours Kenya on Tuesday, November followed by Singapore on Thursday, November 15 and will close the tournament against hosts on Sunday, November 18.
