Moses Basena has resigned from his position as SCVilla coach with immediate effect Kawowo Sports has learnt.

The former Coffee and SC Villa midfielder has quit the club in the aftermath of a 2-2 draw with Tooro United on Wednesday that stretched the club’s winless run to eight matches.

“I don’t think am the right man for the job,” said Basena according to a source that preffered anonymity. “I have done everything in my powers to see the club perform well and I think it’s high time I paved way for another coach,” he added.

Basena took over the reign in a turbulent preseason that saw the Jogoos lose almost all their players after club supremo then Ben Misagga also quit the club.

“It hasn’t been easy,” he reliably said. “We all know the club is in transition and I think I have played my part,” he added.

The former Cranes coach is credited for assembling the new look team despite the interim committee not releasing transfer finances.
