2018 Entebbe Rotary Golf Day Fundraiser:

Individual: Morris Ongwech (38 Stableford Points)

Team: Lets Go Travel 1 (113 Stableford Points)

The major target for the 2018 Entebbe Rotary Golf day tournament was among other factors to raise funds for needy children with heart related complications.

In particular, the theme for this year was to increase the access for heart surgery to needy children in Uganda.

One-year old Sarah Balekere, a toddler born with complex heart issues is beneficiary of the Rotary fundraiser and together with the mother, the two were the focal point on the awards nights.

A total of 123 golfers took part in the day long championship that was played on stable ford format.

Several companies as United Nations, Enhas, Fly Dubai, Aerolink, PKF, Kampala Casino, Emirates Airlines, Africa Gold Refinery (AGR), Blue Hats, Kiwatule, Rotary Club of Entebbe and the eventual winners Lets Go Travel participated with a fee of Shs 500,000 each.

The Lets Go Travel team 1 of Bridget Basima (34 points), Nuwagaba (37 points), Emmanuel Moko (38 Points) and Geofrey Orach (38 Points) contributed a total of 113 stableford points to win the overall team event.

The two best performers on the team Moko and Orach each earned a return Air ticket to Dubai courtesy of Fly Emirates.

Moko, handicap 3 scored 14 and 24 points in the first and back 9 of the course respectively whilst handicap 12 golfer Orach scored 16 and 22 points at the front and back 9 course respectively.

After a troublesome opening 9 course. I settled down to play well in the back 9 and did well

Handicap 6 golfer Morris Ongwech with a sublime 38 points triumphed in the individual catergory.

Ongwech earned a return air ticket to any European destination courtesy of Emirates Airlines.

Other winners:

Paul Kasozi, playing off handicap 17 won the seniors (55 years and above catergory) with a total of 32 stableford points.

Conrad Acaye (handicap 5) was the best in group A with 36 points and Collins Bulafu (handicap 15) toppled group B with 37 points.

In group C, handicap 22 golfer Jacob Byamukama was the best with 37 stable ford points.

Jovia Tugume was the best overall lady golfer on the day with 36 points and earned a return Air ticket to Bwindi.
