Uganda Cup 2018/19 (Round of 64):

Wednesday, 26th December 2018 (4:00 PM):

Vipers Sports Club Vs Rusekere Growers FC – St Marys Stadium, Kitende

KCCA FC Vs Amuka Bright Stars FC – Star Times Stadium, Lugogo

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club will kick off their title defence in the Stanbic Uganda Cup with a tricky FUFA Big League opponent, Amuka Bright Stars FC from Lira.

KCCA FC won the Uganda Cup tournament for the 10th time last year following a hard fought 1-0 win against Vipers during a final played at the Emokori Play ground in Bukedea district.

Now, Mike Mutebi’s charges kick off the campaign with a home duel against Lira’s Amuka Bright Stars, a second tier side.

Fresh from the a historic 2-1 away win over Mtibwa Sugar to a complete a 5-1 aggregate victory in the CAF Confederation Cup first round duel, KCCA will now return to domestic football in the Uganda Cup.

Mutebi, a believer in young talented players will use this plat form to grant them as much playing time as possible.

Players as Allan Okello, Steven Sserwadda, Eric Ssenjobe will therefore be the focal point in the game at a time some of the experienced players as Bernard Muwanga, Patrick Henry Kaddu and Julius Poloto are recovering from injuries.

Mike Mutyaba is among those expected to line up against Amuka Bright Stars

The Mutyaba duo of Mike and Muzamiru, Lawrence Bukenya, Allan Kyambadde, Fillbert Obenchan, skipper Denis Timothy Awany, Isaac Kirabira, Mustafa Kizza, goalkeepers Jamil Malyamungu, Charles Lukwago and Tom Ikara are all available for selection.

In the other match on the day, last year’s losing finalists Vipers will also kick off the 2018/19 campaign at home against little known Rushekere Growers.

These will be the last two games of the Uganda Cup at the round of 64.

The winner of the Uganda Cup earns a ticket to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
