Uganda Cup 2018/19 (Round of 64):

Vipers Vs Rushekere Growers (*Rushekere Growers failed to travel to St Mary’s Kitende)

KCCA 8-2 Amuka Bright Stars

For the umpteenth time at the round of 64 stage in the Uganda Cup, a club failed travel to the opposition home venue.

Fort Portal based Rushekere Growers failed to travel for their round of 64 engagement against last season losing finalists Vipers Sports Club at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on boxing day.

By 3:30 PM, Rushekere Growers team was no where to be seen as many of the home team fans were by the main gate and only a fraction had entered the stadium.

The match could not therefore be played, just like many of the other games where only one club showed up at this stage.

Saviour failed to travel to Mutesa II Wankulukukuku Stadium for their home game against Water.

Similarly, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos failed to make the trip to Mandela National Stadium against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Another FUFA Big League club Kabale Sharp failed to travel to Lira for their match away against Calvary Football Club.

Lira based Vision FC also failed to travel to Jinja to face Wakiso Giants on Christmas eve.

The duels involving Paidah Black Angels – Express and Akadot against Kitara in Kumi were not played because the home sides failed to provide security as required by law.

For all the matches not played, the FUFA Competitions department will pronounce themselves after studying the referees’ match reports.

Meanwhile, KCCA registered the biggest scoreline so far in the current campaign with an 8-2 win against Amuka Bright Stars, a FUFA Big league side at the Star Times Stadium on boxing day.
