Former National Rally Champion Moses Lumala is set to feature in the 2019 season opening event; the Mbarara rally  scheduled for this weekend in parts of Mbarara and Bushenyi. 

Lumala will join over 30 crews for the championship event.

“It’s true. I will be route opening in Mbarara rally. I am doing it in memory of the late Muhangi.

“We have managed to do recce. The routes are fast but certainly plan on making the most of this,” he told Kawowo Sports.

It will be the first time in more than a decade that Lumala features in a rally event. He has however participated in a few sprints in the last two years. 

Mbarara rally will run in honor of the late rally legend Charles Muhangi who was as well the founder of the organising club.

Crews will pay their tribute at the end of the Ishaka stage. The 10 kilometre stage ends exactly late Muhangi’s ancestral home.
