Struggling Nyamityobora Football Club’s woes are bound to take a new turn with the untimely departure of their head coach Asaph Mwebaze Jr as well as his two assistants, Joseph Kiwanuka and Juma Ssekiziyivu.

The tactician has made a bitter decision to step down following a string of unconvincing results, the latest being the 2-0 home defeat to Express at Kakyeka stadium on Wednesday.

Sulait Makumbi, the team manager confirmed the development moments after the club lost to Express.

Yes. It is true that the head coach (Mwebaze) and his assistants have resigned because of the poor run of results at the club. At the moment, we have no one in charge and soon the club management will convene to seek a way forward.

Kawowo Sports has established that root cause that has pushed these coaches to the wall is attributed to intrigue, player factions and in-fighting within the club step up.

It is also believed Ssekiziyivu will now concentrate on the club’s junior side (U-19 team).

Last Friday, Nyamityobora also lost to sworn rivals Mbarara City 3-0 during the explosive well attended derby.

Formerly at Maroons and Onduparaka, Mwebaze joined the Abanyakare at towards the end of last year.

Nyamityobora is currently 15th on the log, second bottom with just 12 points from 19 matches.

They have won and drawn three games apiece with 13 losses.

Nyamityobora will make the long trip to face Paidha Black Angels next week during their next league engagement.

Kawowo Sports is yet to confirm who will take over the club managerial roles as the Paidha Black Angels’ game is around the corner.

Mwebaze had replaced James Odoch who has since joined Entebbe Football Club in the FUFA Big League.
