The domestic season of the 2019 national athletics calendar officially gets underway on Saturday, 16th February at the Tororo Golf Course, overlooking the gigantic Tororo Rock.
At least 200 participants are expected to grace the undulating golf course in the different race catergories lined up on the day.
Elite athletes as Jacob Kiplimo, Joshua Cheptegei, Oscar Chelimo, Moses Kipyeko, Mande Busheneich and reknown marathoner Stephen Kiprotich will all be in contention.

Stellah Chesang, Mercy Kibet are some of the female athletes to look forward to.
Close to 200 participants will take part in the different catergories at stake in either gender among the different clubs as Police, Prisons, Ndejje University, Wildlife, Makerere University, Jinja, Entebbe, Arua, Tororo, UPDF among others.
According to the president of the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) Dominic Otuchet, all Uganda’s finest athletes will be expected to take part and predicts a healthy competitive event.
All the finest athletes you know in Uganda including marathoner Stephen Kiprotich will be in Tororo. This will be a great event.

The event will be used as a plat form to provide the basis of qualification to select team Uganda that will take part in the 2019 World Cross Country event in Denmark come March.
