National Post Primary Qualifiers: Kawempe Muslim emerge champions of Kampala region

National Post Primary Schools Qualifiers (Kampala Region)

• Boys: Kawempe Muslim 0(5)- 0(4) Kakungulu Memorial SS
• Girls: Kawempe Muslim 2-0 Uganda Martyrs HS, Lubaga

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School emerged champions of the National Post Primary schools qualifiers in Kampala Region both in the boys and girls categories.

In the finals played at Old Kampala SS on Thursday, Kawempe Muslim won in both categories to qualify as Kampala region champions.

To win the boys’ category, Kawempe Muslim edged Kakungulu Memorial in a tense penalty shootout. Normal time ended goallessly but the Ayub Khalifa coached side won 5-4 to become champions.

Kawempe Muslim had eliminated Uganda Martyrs High School in the semifinals winning 2-1 while Kakungulu Memorial SS, on the other hand, defeated rivals Kibuli SS.

In the girls final, Kawempe Muslim extended their dominance winning the regional championship by defeating Uganda Martyrs High School in the final.

Juliet Nalukenge and Samalie Nakachwa scored a goal each to guide Kawempe Muslim to a 2-0 win.

Four teams in each category (boys and girls) will represent Kampala region at the final championships that will be held next month in Jinja and Mbale respectively.

Boys: Kawempe Muslim, Kakungulu Memorial SS, Kibuli SS and Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga

Girls: Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, Gaddafi Integrated Academy and Katuuso Community College
