Mbale Progressive SS, Musede SS Sironko and Nabongo SS Bulambuli will represent Bugisu region at the national Copa Post Primary football competition that will be hosted by Jinja College starting 6th May 2019.

Mbale Progressive SS lost to St. Mary’s SS Mbale 5-4 in penalties after a goalless in the finals of Bugisu region post primary qualifiers but St. Mary’s was later dis-qualified for using ineligible players.

Meanwhile Musede SS Sironko beat Nabongo SS Bulambuli 3-0 in the third place playoff but after the elimination of St. Mary’s SS both Musede and Nabongo qualified for nationals for the first time in history as first and second runners-ups in Bugisu region.

Musa Nandala, the head coach Mbale progressive SS is optimistic his team will perform well at the national level.

Nandala says he wants to write history after guiding Halasi Clan to the victory of the inaugural Bamasaaba Bikuuka Tournament (Inter Clan) in 2017.

He is a coach player at Mbale Sky Sports, a regional league team.

No team from Bugisu region has ever won the national post primary title since inception.

Meanwhile, Bugisu High School girls beat High Way SS 4-3 in penalties after a goalless draw to emerge as Bugisu Region girl’s football champions and qualify for the national ball games that will be hosted by Mbale SS.

Jacob ‘General’ Wamono, the coach Bugisu High School Girls teams targets lifting the title at the national ball games in the girl’s football category.
