- UCU Lady Canons vs. JKL Lady Dolphins – 6:30 pm, YMCA

JKL Lady Dolphins have proven from last seasons finals that they are now the team to beat in Women’s National Basketball League.
The champions, despite a slow start, blew out KCCA Leopards on the opening day of the 2019 season last Friday in a show of opulence.
Ritah Imanishimwe and Hope Akello did not need to be at their best for the side to beat the Leopards as Jamila Nansikombi and Jane Asinde inspired agreeably the best club in the country to victory.
And on Friday evening, Henry Malinga’s charges will take the floor of YMCA with UCU Lady Canons, the other side that will try to challenge their title defence.
Lady Canons come into the game on the back of a 77-42 win over newcomers YMCA behind Maimuna Nabbosa’s 21 points that were matched by Zainah Lokwameri.
However, the matchup against Lady Dolphins is none like their last game. With Sarah Ageno out nursing a troubling knee and Priscilla Abei undersized, UCU has just one real big man in Rose Akon, and Lokwameri can only support.
The university side may have many options in the backcourt with the likes of Nabbosa, rising star Shakirah Nanvubya, and Ruth Letaru but can only do much against Flavia Oketcho, Imanishimwe, Nansikombi and others.
JKL’s strength in depth is unmatched in the division and will be on the show in their second game of the season.
In the men’s division, KIU Titans will face off with Power.
