Onduparaka Football Club midfielder Gadafi Wahab staged not only one a man of the match performance but also struck the match winner as the Caterpillars edged a 10 man BUL 1-0 at the Green Light Stadium, Arua on Easter eve.

Wahab, who was playing his first game of the season after a long injury spell struck the only goal of the day, a penalty in the second half following a hand-ball incident in the penalty area.

Earlier, Onduparaka had also missed a 17th minute Ceaser Okhuti penalty saved by goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.

Ssebwalunyo later limped out and his place was taken by Paul Mujwapani.

BUL were reduced to 10 men following a red card to midfielder Daniel Shabena in the 59th minute.

The visitors also received four cautions to Abdul Mayanja, Jimmy Kulaba, James Otim and Bucochera Jamaldin.

Onduparaka’s only yellow card was to former SC Villa midfielder Abel Eturude with 9 minutes to play.

This was Onduparaka’s 11th win of the season, taking them to 40 points, same as BUL who are above them because of goal difference.

The match hero Gadafi was full of praise for his coaches and teammates who prayed for him in the trying moments that kept him out of action for close to a year.

Onduparaka faces Paidha Black Angels in their next game on Wednesday, 24th April 2019.
