Gor Mahia 1-0 Bandari

Gor Mahia out-smarted Bandari 1-0 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu to go top of the Kenya Premier League.

Rwanda Amavubi international Jacques Tuyisenge scored the price-less goal on 90 minutes to separate the two sides.

Nearly acquired holding midfielder Hashim Sempala, a new signing for Gor Mahia from rivals Tusker played full time in the game.

Earlier, William Wadri was close to scoring for the Dockers but goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji was alert to tame the danger in the 23rd minute.

Substitute Dennis Oliech was denied by Bandari goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo in the 70th minute before Tuyisenge headed home the lone goal from Francis Kahata’s cross at the death of the game.

It was perfect revenge for Gor Mahia against a side that had defeated them 2-1 in the season opener.

Also, Gor Mahia had been eliminated by the same opponent in the FKF Shield Cup.

Gor Mahia now has 49 points from 22 matches.

Second placed Sofapaka Sports Club are on 48 points from 25 matches whilst Bandari has 45 points from 24 matches played.
