JKL Lady Dolphins will certainly not lose a game in the first round of the 2019 Women’s National Basketball League.

The side has beaten the other top three clubs in the division with the latest being former champions A1 Challenge.

The Lady Dolphins (3-1) saw off A1 Challenge (1-2), 70-42, on Friday night at YMCA, Wandegeya.

A1 made the game a contest in the first quarter following JKL’s slow start. However, Jamila Nansikombi sparked a 13-2 run to start the second quarter and the game was all but done once the champions went into a double-digit lead.

The 2018 MVP who started on the bench tallied 16 points to lead the way to JKL. Jane Asinde came in handy with 13 points while Hope Akello pulled down 12 rebounds to go with 9 points.

Ruth Atuheire matched game-high 16 points and picked 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

JKL will play Nkumba on Sunday, April 28 and KIU Rangers on Wednesday May 1 while A1 will be back in action on Friday, May 3 against UCU Lady Canons.
