Feza Ebengo goes for the basket

JKL Lady Dolphins advanced to 5-0 in the National Basketball League following a 75-54 win over KIU Rangers on Wednesday.

Despite being inefficient from the floor, Feza Ebengo scored team-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to pace the champions. The forward logged season-high 27 minutes

Jane Asinde scored an efficient 13 points, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and picked 9 rebounds. Hope Akello had as many points and pulled down 7 rebounds.

KIU’s Ninette Uwinezza sunk a 3-pointer after nearly four minutes of neither side making a field goal. Ebengo hit a pair of throws to tie the game and laid-in for the lead. A 12-5 run to close the first quarter from JKL opened a 9-point lead.

Stella Oyella powered in for a lay-up and added a couple of throws to put JKL in the double-digit lead, and the champions never looked back as the lead ballooned to 18 heading into the long break.

Ines Kanyamunza scored game-high 23 points and was the only Ranger to reach double figures as KIU suffered their first defeat of the season.

KIU Rangers will host YMCA in Kansanga on Saturday, May 4 while JKL play a day later on the same floor against Angels.
