Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club manager Mike Hilary Mutebi has identified right-back Paul Willa as the first target for the 2019/2020.

Mutebi let the ‘cat of the bag’ during the pre-match press conference on Friday, 3rd May 2019 ahead of the club’s home contest against Maroons during the final matchday of the 2018/19 Uganda Premier League season.

We shall not sign many new players but bring back one of our own, Paul Willa from Police Football Club. He has looked well and improved a lot since he left us.

Mutebi also boasted of the big young system program at KCCA that has graduated many talented players, three-thirds of whom are being used by many other clubs in the top flight as Ndejje University, Maroons, Police, Onduparaka and others.

Our system we started years back has produced fruits and over 30 players are playing in the league.

The right-back position for KCCA has been one of the grey areas for the club.

Virtually, more than five players have been tried at right back this season from Filbert Obenchan, Peter ‘Machette’ Magambo, Bernard Muwanga, Julius Poloto, captain Denis Timothy Awany and lately midfielder Abubakar Gift Ali.

Willa has had a splendid season with Police Football Club with equal offensive and defensive displays.

During the same season, he was also summoned to the national U-23 team in the AFCON U-23 qualifiers.

KCCA will complete the season as champions for the 13th time since the league inception.
