Patrick Kaddu scored twice on the final day

A whopping 23 goals were scored on the final day of the premier league as the season ended with a bang.

With the championship decided and relegated teams confirmed before the final day, there was nothing much to play for but perhaps a chance for players to express themselves.

2018-19: 23

Albert Mugisa and Ambrose Kirya were among the goals in final day

SC Villa and Bright Stars stunning 6-0 and 6-1 victories over already relegated Nyamityobora and Paidha Black Angels as well as KCCA 6-1 mauling over Maroons played a big part.

Nelson Senkatuka scored five times for Bright Stars were there were braces for Patrick Kaddu and Mike Sserumaga at Lugogo and Namboole respectively.

Shockingly, there three goalless draws; URA away to Tooro United, Onduparaka at home to Express FC and Ndejje held Kirinya Jinja SS at the Mighty Arena.

2017-18: 17

Arguably the most competitive season in recent years as both the title race and relegation fight were decided on the final day.

Vipers’ 4-1 win over UPDF at Kitende contributed the most goals as well as the four goal thriller at Namboole involving KCCA and Police FC.

URA and Proline also did contribute three goals while Express added another away at Masavu to survive relegation.

2016-17: 19

Four goal thrillers involving Express FC and Tooro United as well as Jinja and Proline at Bugembe were the biggest contributors this day.

On a lighter note, there was no scoreless game on the afternoon as KCCA lifted the title in a game that contributed three goals when they beat Sadolin Paints 2-1 at Lugogo.

2015/16: 30

The highest scoring finale in the previous six years as a record 30 goals were recorded.

No team kept a clean sheet on the day with URA’s 6-1 win over SC Victoria University the biggest contributor.

SC Villa won 4-1 at Maroons while Express edged Police in a five goal thriller as well.

2013/14: 21

KCCA’s 3-1 win over rivals SC Villa as well Express’ 2-2 draw with Entebbe and a shock Masaka LC 3-0 victory Vipers were the highlights on the day.
