  • Gaddafi Integrated Academy 0-0 Uganda Martyrs HS
  • St. Noa, Zzana 4-1 Restore Academy

Defending champions Gaddafi Integrated Academy began their title defence with a point earned against Uganda Martyrs High School.

The game played at Mbale Municipal stadium ended in a goalless draw in a familiar affair between the two teams.

It should noted that both Gaddafi and Uganda Martyrs qualified from Kampala region alongside Kawempe Muslim and Katuuso Community College.

Uganda Martyrs are returning to the national championship after serving a one-year suspension for fielding ineligible players during the East Africa Secondary Schools games in 2017.

Gaddafi and Uganda Martyrs are in group A alongside Masaka SS and Amugu SS from Lira district.

St. Noa, Zzana that reached the semifinals last year in Fort Portal started on an impressive note outwitting Restore Academy from Gulu 4-1.

Atiba Namaganda scored a brace while captain Aisha Nantongo and Sandra Kisakye added a goal apiece.

Restore Academy got their consolation through Brenda Morika.

The victory means St. Noa take an early lead in Group D ahead of Biyaya SS from Adjuman, Kangole Girls and Restore Academy.
