- Challengers 290/10 | Arthur Kyobe 103(73), Richard Agamire 45(48) in 48.1 overs beat Tornado Bees 174/10 in 38.2 overs by 116 runs.
- Player of Match: Arthur Kyobe (Challengers).
- Kutchi Tigers 62/2 in 9.1 overs beat Tornado 58/10 in 22.2 overs by 8 wickets.
Left-hand opener Kyobe Arthur scored the first century of the season to lead his side Challengers to a commanding 116 run win over four-time league winners Tornado Bee.
Despite being successful in T20 cricket, the 50 over title still eludes Challengers and they will be looking at setting that record straight.
Challengers won the toss and chose to bat first. Kyobe got stuck into the Tornado Bee bowling, hitting 6 maximums and 9 boundaries scoring 103 off just 73 balls. Even with wickets falling around him, he built the platform on which the rear guard led by Richard Agamire (45) was able to build and post a competitive 290 all out in 48 overs.
In the chase, the four-time league winners faced an uphill battle to chase down the big total. And with Challengers choosing to start with their slow bowlers, Tornado Bee lost Sulaiman Mwebaze and Mitch Horrocks cheaply and early further derailing the chase.
Only Cyrus Kibuka Musoke (54) showed some bite with a fluid half-century as the former champions lost by 116 runs.
Tornado Bee has lost some steel since they lost three of their most experienced campaigners Lawrence Ssematimba, Deus Muhumuza and Roger Mukasa to other teams.
