Sadat Negomba landed his maiden victory in four years since joining local rally.
Navigated by Robert Katabalwa, Negomba topped the tight Two-wheel battle in the just concluded Fort Portal rally to register his best career finish.
He was ahead of Fred Senkumba and Musa Mulimira in second and third position respectively.
“I am so happy that I can finally experience how victory. I once came so close to winning an event last year but a last minute penalty denied me the chance.”
“This victory comes in a special way because this event was so tight. It was a hard fought win with all crews pushing till the last event,” said Negomba.
Negomba’s victory further opens up the 2WD title chase with two rallies remaining.
The Toyota FX driver joins the fray for the title as he sits only seven points behind leader Samuel Watendwa.
“Before Fort Portal rally, my chances were slim. But now I have reduced on the points difference and able to fight in the remaining events,” he added.
Category leader Samuel Watendwa finished fifth in Fort Portal, reducing his lead to only three points ahead of second place Fred Senkumba.
