Last season, Impis RFC were left seething with rage when Mongers were awarded a walkover after their pleas for postponement of a league game fell on deaf ears.

In the opening match of this season, the two rival clubs will face off at the Makerere Rugby Grounds with Impis looking to settle the score with Mongers.

Spencer Muhiire will captain the side at flyhalf assisted by scrum leader Amos Asiimire at tighthead prop.

It is a familiar back row setup for Impis with Mpoza, Sedyabane and Muhumuza looking to keep Mongers behind the gainline on the first ball off the setpiece.

Kennedy Muhumuza and Pius Mpoza

Keith Weraga makes the switch to inside center combining with Happy Asiimwe in the midfield. The calm and composed Jerome Tasiku has been trusted with commanding the line from fullback.

Four players have been handed an opportunity to make their debuts coming off the bench. Godfrey Ayebare, Gilbert Deng Ring, Edmond Waya and Aaron Atooke make up an even 4-4 split of the substitutes.

Kickoff is at 4pm.
