Total U-20 Afcon top scorer Derrick Kakooza has hailed his teammates and coaches for enabling him win the golden boot.

The Police FC forward scored five goals in the tournament scoring a hat trick in the semi-finals against Tunisia.

Kakooza says defeat in the final was a lesson although the target was to win the competition.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. It didn’t go the way we wanted but it’s a pleasure we broke the odds,” Kakooza posted on twitter.

“Thanks to coaches and fellow players who enabled me to be the top goal scorer of the tournament. I couldn’t do it alone without you guys.”

Kakooza and teammate Aziz Kayondo were named in the Team of the Tournament alongside their coach, Morley Byekwaso as the competition’s best manager.
