• Nile Special Stout Rugby Premier League – Matchday Two
  • 3pm: Jinja Hippos vs Impis RFC
  • Dam Waters Rugby Club, Jinja.

While Jinja Hippos will be playing their first game of the season, Impis will be out in their second but both teams are setting their sights on getting their first wins of the season.

Impis lost 15-10 to Mongers at home while Jinja Hippos opener against Warriors was postponed.

For Jinja Hippos, Robert Seguya has made four changes to the team that was supposed to start last weekend. James Okello starts at hooker with Sean Mubiru and Edmund Quarisma completing the front row. Lemeriga at blindside wing is the only switch made in the backline.

Emmanuel Katuntu has shaken up his squad from last weekend with new combinations and new players. Amos Asiimire returns to the familiar hooker position, captain Spencer Muhiire has been moved to scrumhalf and Keith Weraga is at fullback.

This will be the first test of Jinja Hippos’ potential this season since they appear to be the closed team to the incumbent top 3 clubs in the country. Impis on the other hand, will be targeting an upset against a midfield team that has eluded them for seasons.
