For the past few campaigns, this game has been rated arguably the biggest in the country.

The two teams have dominated league football for the past seven years but come into the game behind leaders URA with Vipers in third position on 30 points while KCCA are fourth on 27 points.

Either will be seeking maximum points to keep URA who are in action away to Onduparaka in sight as a stalemate or defeat could leave them a further behind if Sam Ssimbwa’s on form side.

Coach Fred Kajoba who will be involved in this fixture for the first time is confident his boys will come out on top.

“We have set ourselves well both mentally and physically and we will go all out against KCCA FC on Wednesday,” he told the club website.

“We are playing at home and it’s important for us to do our best and end the first round well.”

His opposite number Mike Mutebi whose side could be nine points behind leaders by end of the day says they are not under any pressure but will go and try to win the game.

Mike Hilary Mutebi, KCCA FC manager

“We have no pressure and this is like any other game. We shall go there and try to win the game,” he told the media. “We shall play our way and we shall not be worried about the opposition,” he added.

On failing to beat Vipers at Kitende, Mutebi says history isn’t what they are looking at.

“We are not looking at History and how we have been performing against Vipers at Kitende.”
